Haus Der Statistik

The House of Statistics is an iconic modernist building in Alexanderplatz. It has been empty for 8 years. The initiative Haus der Statistik and the district center aims  to regenerate the approx. 40.000sqm building ensemble in a multifunctional structure including social housing for refugees, students, seniors together with working and meeting spaces for art, culture and education,  generating meaningful synergies. The objective is to create a pilot project of a different kind that is good for people in the area of Alexanderplatz and stands for an integrative and diverse Berlin. A public participative process is ongoing to design the regeneration process. Tesserae is closely following the initiative.
