Zeig mir dein Hohenschönhausen
Remembrance in transition – Show me your Hohenschönhausen! (Erinnerung im Wandel – Zeig mir dein Hohenschönhausen!) is a short visual storytelling project done in the Hohenschönhausen – neighborhood in the north-east of Berlin. In recent years, the inhabitants of this modernist complex in the former East Berlin have changed and diversified considerably. New inhabitants have moved in and are now living together with people who have already been living in the district for many years. As a result, the culture and the identity of the neighborhood has changed. In this project the focus will be put on the concept of culture of remembrance (Erinnerungskultur). Tesserae researchers will coordinate a laboratory of community storytelling using photography to engage a group of inhabitants on a reflection on the culture of remembrance.
